Phoenix police were called to house in the early morning on Friday in the 7900 block of West Chickasaw Street after a 29-year-old mother was shot by her boyfriend while she was holding her 1-year-old baby. The 41-year-old boyfriend, Miguel Nieves, was arrested by Phoenix Police.
Nieves claimed that he believed he was shooting at an intruder.
The victim was treated for her injury and released. The baby was not harmed.
