Sunday, just before 6:00 p.m., San Xavier District deputies responded to a vehicle collision in the 10200 block of South Old Nogales Highway.
When deputies arrived, they learned a person driving a 2003 white Lincoln Aviator northbound on Old Nogales Highway, lost control of the vehicle and rolled over. The Sheriff’s Department Traffic Unit responded and took over the investigation. The driver, and only occupant in the vehicle, died on scene.
The driver has been identified as 28-year-old Rene Edson Silva Silvain. Mr. Silva Silvain was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. It is believed speed may have been a factor in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing and it is unknown if alcohol may have been a factor as well. –
