The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office reported a man died Saturday after falling into the water at Lake Pleasant. He has been identified as 18-year-old Clayton Waggle of Prescott.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said that Waggle and another 18-year-old were on the west side of the lake, and were walking from shore to an island along a narrow natural shelf.

According to his friend a gust of wind came along and blew them both into the water.

Waggle’s friend grabbed a buoy and turned to find Waggle, but Waggle was nowhere in sight.

The friend ran back to the group to try to get help.

Meantime, a boater spotted the commotion and rushed in to help. MCSO says those on the boat were able to find Waggle in the water and load him on the boat. They began CPR on the way to shore.

Waggle was flown by helicopter to a trauma center in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.
