On Wednesday March 30, 2016 at approximately 10:35 am, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a residence on fire in the 300 block of North 6th Street in Sierra Vista.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded along with volunteer units and Sierra Vista/Fry Fire Department personnel.
Between 15-20 homes were evacuated due to the potential fire danger in the 200-300 blocks of 5th and 6th Streets.
Red Cross personnel are set up at the Sierra Vista Food Mart on 7th and Theater in Sierra Vista for residents to have a safe place until the area has been cleared.
As a result of this fire, two abandoned mobile homes were destroyed and two vehicles were damaged.
Sheriff’s Office investigators are investigating to determine the cause and origin of this fire.
