On Saturday, April 16, 2016, just after 11:00pm, the Glendale Police Department received 911 calls of a person being shot near 6000 W. Laurie Lane. Upon arrival, Glendale Police Officers located a victim outside of a residence. They located 28 year old Christopher Warchol of Phoenix.
Warchol had sustained a gun shot wound. He was treated at the scene by Glendale Fire, but declared deceased on-scene.
Glendale Violent Crimes Detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. First responding officers were able to detain 28-year old Marcus Green of Glendale.
Detectives have determined that a group of friends had been out Saturday night, to include Warchol and Green. As the vehicle driven by the victim stopped to drop off Green, an argument followed which turned into a physical fight between the two. During that incident Green produced a handgun and shot Warchol.
Green is the suspect in this shooting and is currently being interviewed by detectives.
