Agents Seize Nearly 40 Pounds of Meth at I-8 Checkpoint

YUMA, Ariz. – A U.S. citizen was arrested with drugs in her vehicle when she attempted to drive through the Interstate 8 immigration checkpoint, on Thursday morning (May 19).

After stopping the woman’s vehicle, agents used available technology and the assistance of a K-9 team during a secondary inspection to locate the drugs hidden throughout the walls of the car.  Nearly 40 pounds of methamphetamine were discovered.  The drugs are valued at more than $118,000.

The driver, vehicle and drugs were processed per Yuma Sector guidelines.
