The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office applies for grant funding from a variety of sources to help augment the organizational budget and allow more resources to be available. As a result of grant applications made, the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety has awarded the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office with four separate grants for fiscal year 2016.
The grants received are as follows:
- A grant in the amount of $1107.00 was received for the purchase of meters to test the legal grade of window tint that is on vehicles. These funds will be used in conjunction with the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program in Cochise County.
- A grant in the amount of $40,000.00 was received to support personnel overtime and employer related expenses for the DUI Task Force deployments in Cochise County.
- A grant in the amount of $10,000.00 was received to support personnel overtime and employer related expenses for use in the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Enforcement throughout Cochise County.
- A grant in the amount of $4000.00 was received to support personnel overtime and employer related expenses for use in the Buckle-Up Arizona Enforcement Campaign.
Sheriff Dannels said, “We appreciate the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety always supporting the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office and our mission. We are able to provide a higher level of service with the use of the $55,107.00 dollars provided in these four grants and we will continue to make each dollar count.”
