THE BUZZ: After downing an espresso with two extra shots, we spent Wednesday tracking Democrat Bernie Sanders’ whirlwind tour around California. We hit his Asian Pacific Islander town hall in Palo Alto, followed by his rally in the same town under the broiling sun. Then he went off to Davis, for another rally. And this has been going on for days in California.

We’re still wondering: Just how is the white-haired, 74-year-old Vermont senator pulling off this grueling non-stop schedule — rally after rally, press conferences, selfies unlimited?

Maybe because those rallies illustrate that what he’s running on is better than caffeine. Sanders, and his enthusiastic supporters, believe a win is within reach. Really.

And two new polls, including the Field Poll released just this morning, suggest they may be right.
