The Arizona Attorney General’s office has filed a Consumer Fraud Lawsuit against a Prescott Valley business accused of placing numerous telemarketing calls to Arizonans listed on the National Do Not Call Registry. The lawsuit alleges AJ’s Auto Glass, LLC made unwanted phone calls to consumers in order to advertise windshield repair and replacement services.
“This lawsuit should serve as a warning to telemarketers who ignore the law and continue to harass Arizonans on the Do Not Call list,” said Attorney General Mark Brnovich. “This office will take action against any business that blatantly violates Arizona’s telephone solicitation laws.”
The Attorney General’s Office Consumer Fraud Lawsuit alleges the telephone calls continued even after consumers asked AJ’s Auto Glass not to be called again. Consumers claim they tried to block AJ’s Auto Glass telephone solicitations and could not do so, since the continuing telephone calls would show up as different telephone numbers on the consumers’ caller ID.
The Attorney General is asking the Court to order AJ’s Auto Glass to stop the alleged illegal telephone solicitations and to order the business to pay civil penalties associated with the investigation and litigation.
The case is being handled by Assistant Attorney General Cherie Howe.
