On Saturday July 16, 2016 at approximately 9:30 am, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a possible dead body at the Triangle T Ranch east of Benson. The caller advised that there was a body about 300 yards onto his property in the driveway and covered in a sleeping bag.
The caller said that the body as a man who appeared to be African American or Hispanic.
Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives arrived on scene and noted that there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body. After processing the scene, the body was transported to the Pima County Medical Examiners’ Office for the completion of an autopsy to determine cause of death.
There is security camera footage being reviewed by detectives that show a light colored newer model GMC pickup truck that entered the driveway at approximately 11:30 pm on Friday night, and leaving again after about three minutes.
The initial investigation indicates that the deceased subject suffered some type of medical condition while travelling through the area in the above mentioned vehicle and the other occupants dumped the person, unknown if he was still alive or deceased, and then left the area.
A photographic identification card was located with the body indicating that he was 36 years of age from Nayaert, Mexico. The Sheriff’s Office is working with the Mexican Consulate to ensure next of kin notification is being completed.
