Dr. Kelli Ward, the conservative physician and former State Senator challenging embattled incumbent John McCain, just spoke at Citizens for Trump’s “America First” Unity Rally rally in Cleveland, Ohio today at 1:30pm Eastern time. Senator Ward will be available for interviews in Cleveland until tomorrow afternoon.
The rally is taking place at Settlers Landing Park in Cleveland, Ohio.
The military wife and family physician’s remarks followed a “citizen servant vs. career politician” theme emphasizing the “real world experience” she holds in common with Trump.
In contrast, she labeled her opponent, who is skipping the convention and offers only tepid support for the presumptive nominee, as “the ultimate establishment insider” and “Hillary’s favorite Republican,” while portraying herself as the “Conservative Champion” Donald Trump will need in to confirm conservative judicial nominees in the Senate.
Highlights of her address included her usual taglines “Constitutional isn’t optional” and “Mix the Mortar to Fix the Border.”
Ward also challenged McCain to a one-on-one debate.
The strength of our anti-establishment ‘AZ, Not DC’ campaign has startled the senior Senator from Washington, DC. After spending millions of dollars assassinating my character, questioning my patriotism, and attacking our military family,” Ward said, “John McCain must have something to say. He should say it to my face in front of the voters.”
