
The Tucson Police Department is asking the public for assistance in locating the person or persons responsible for recent acts of graffiti vandalism in the Downtown and 4th Avenue area.
On July 5, 2016 a member of the Fourth Avenue Merchant’s Association reported graffiti over a mural on a business located near N. 4th Ave. and E. 6th St. The graffiti most likely occurred over the 4th of July holiday weekend (between July 1, 2016 – July 4, 2016).
On July 9, 2016 officers responded to the Rialto Theatre (318 E. Congress St.) reference a report of vandalism. Upon arrival, they observed the entire front doors of the business had been painted over with pink and black paint. They learned the incident was captured on surveillance video and occurred around 3:45 a.m. The suspect was was described as a white or Hispanic male between 20-30 years of age. During this incident, several vehicles and people walk by as the suspect is committing the crime. It also appears at one point, two unknown males make contact with the suspect for a brief period of time.
The Tucson Police Department graffiti officers have been working diligently on each of these cases and are continuing to investigate any other possible incidents that might be associated. The officers have located an additional act of graffiti vandalism near 122 E. 7th that appears consistent with the other two incidents.

As officers work to identify, locate and hold the person or persons responsible for these acts of graffiti vandalism, they are asking anyone who has information to please call 88-CRIME (You can remain anonymous.)
