Vail Schools Evacuated Due To Flooding

At the request of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department the Vail School District evacuated schools on Tuesday. Flooding had caused many road closures in the Vail area.

Deputies were concerned about a sinkhole south of Andrada on Houghton Road, and flooding north of Pantano.

Andrada and Pantano High School students were evacuated to Cienega High School.

The Sheriff’s Department monitored washes to make sure students passed them safely.
