The Corporation Commission approved the transfer of two small water companies to larger water providers this week.
The Commission approved the application from Jake’s Corner Water Systems for Management Systems LLC to take over the operation. Jake’s Corner Water Systems provides water to 20 customers 18 miles outside of Payson in Gila County. The company’s system lacks adequate storage to serve existing customers and has had on-going and unresolved issues with arsenic exceedances. Management Systems will construct a new 5,000 gallon minimum storage tank and will be monitoring water to ensure it is up to or brought up to standards. A new Certificate of Convenience and Necessity will be issued for Management Systems.
The Commissioners also approved the transfer of Wickenburg Ranch Water LLC and Wickenburg Ranch Wastewater LCC to the Town of Wickenburg. The companies serve 110 customers in the Wickenburg Ranch development north of town. The transfer will facilitate the Town’s annexation of the development and the customers will likely see a reduction in their bills.
