Dr. Kelli Ward is inviting Senator John McCain to meet her family. Ward’s invite follows allegations by the elderly senator that Ward had retweeted an apparent anti-Semite’s tweet.
The unpopular McCain has been attacking Ward in his familiar uncivilized manner while accusing other of incivility.
In that manner, aAfter Dennis Welch of 3TV reported that Ward retweeted an apparent anti-Semite, McCain’s campaign promptly issued a press release about “ties to white supremacists.”
After citing sketchy polls showing him up by 21 points last week, McCain blasted out a “24 Hour Emergency” fundraising email this morning saying, “This election is going to be close and we can take nothing for granted…nothing is certain this election cycle…I’m counting on your support for my August 30th primary.”
Along with a picture of her multiracial family, Dr. Kelli Ward responded with the following statement on social media:
“I believe we are all created in the image of God and that our Creator loves us all the same. I am appalled by the accusations of racism. I am sickened that my opponent has stooped so low. I pray that the next generation will know less of this hatred. I pray for the healing of our land.”
The unmitigated gall of McCain’s press release highlighted his own hypocrisy as one of only six current members of Congress who voted against the national Martin Luther King holiday.
McCain also lied to the people of South Carolina in 2000 for political expediency, flip-flopping like a flounder on a hot wooden boat dock, later admitting ”I feared that if I answered honestly, I could not win the South Carolina primary…so I chose to compromise my principles. I broke my promise to always tell the truth” (New York Times, 2000).
Far worse than any inadvertent retweet, McCain’s giant Jenga tower of political cynicism soars even higher when a simple Google search reveals his ties to former Strom Thurmond consultant Richard Quinn who celebrated the assassination of Lincoln and whose Southern Partisan publication suggested that slavery wasn’t really that bad after all.
Ward explained that McCain’s campaign is reeling in disarray and messaging mush:
“First I’m crazy, then too conservative, then I’m a liberal voting with Bernie Sanders, now I’m apparently racist? I guess some people will say anything just to get a sixth term in the Senate. John McCain is the poster child for term-limits.
“McCain’s massive misstep in mudslinging at me and my family is the latest evidence that he and his rusty campaign team just aren’t up to the task anymore. After 34 years in DC, McCain is the ultimate establishment insider, and, at age 80, he just won’t have what it takes to defeat Obamacare Queen Ann Kirkpatrick in November.
“These desperate attacks are obviously intended to distract from Senator McCain’s scandalous financial connections to Saudi Arabia and his and Hillary’s failed ‘Invade the World, Invite the World’ agenda of expensive nation-building and endless occupations abroad paired with open borders and amnesty here at home. If McCain’s re-election is such a safe bet, why spend so much money desperately smearing a supposedly nonviable candidate?”
