Recently, AZDPS Trooper Dan Voelker competed in the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) Inspector Championship held in Indianapolis, Indiana. Trooper Voelker competed against 49 of the top commercial vehicle inspectors from across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Each year, CVSA recognizes the best by inviting the top inspector from each jurisdiction to participate in the North American Inspectors Championship. All of the inspection categories which include safety standards and technology are timed events.
This year, Trooper Voelker won the Grand Champion Award. In addition, he placed 1st in Level I inspections and 2nd in Hazmat Inspections. Earlier this year he also won the “Inspector Challenge” in Tempe, Arizona.
“We are extremely proud of Trooper Voelker for this outstanding accomplishment. The Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Program, which Trooper Voelker is a part of, strives for excellence, and when one of our own obtains such international recognition, it reflects well on the entire program,” said AZDPS Capt. Brian Preston, who oversees the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Program.
