TUSD Whistleblowers, Activists Expose PR Problems
The Tucson Unified School District WhistleBlowers on Wednesday released a scathing letter which revealed the serious issues facing teachers and students. The District’s retaliatory tactics have forced teachers, site administrators, and parents into groups like the Whistleblowers in order to safely share their concerns and experience with the public.
It is because of groups like the Whistleblowers, education activists like David Morales, and recent news coverage that the District has gone to what many consider to be extreme measures to manage its image. In the case of Morales, the District has removed from its website a video of a recent Governing Board meeting in which Morales was escorted out by security personnel under orders from Board president Adelita Grijalva.
