On Saturday August 27, 2016 at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was advised of an attempted stolen vehicle incident on Highway 92 near Eads Construction in Bisbee. The male caller said that he was parked on the side of the roadway near the construction site when two male subjects dressed in camoflauge tried to take his truck.
The male caller said that they were not successful and they left on foot eastbound.
A Sheriff’s Deputy and his K-9 responded to the area and began tracking the alleged suspects. The Deputy became entangled in some debris causing him to fall into a culvert and receive a head injury and a broken arm.
Additional units responded to the scene along with medical personnel who transported the Deputy to the hospital for treatment. The suspects have not been located at this time.
The deputy is recovering.
