
On August 30, 2016, a jury convicted Bruce Alan McCullough of First Degree Murder.
In March of 1976, McCullough murdered his then girlfriend, Donna Marie Smith. Her mother discovered her badly battered body several days after her death. McCullough fled to California and lived under a false name until 2013, when he filed for government benefits using his real name.
McCullough told police that he had to kill Donna because she attacked him. McCullough described how he used a brick to hit her in the head over and over until it was done, then used a knife in the wound to “make sure.” T
