After three days, at about 7:30 Wednesday morning Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputies recovered the body of 24 year old Chintan Shah from Lake Pleasant just East of Yavapai Island and Fireman’s Cove.
Every effort was made by deputies to locate him and they never gave up the search unless weather didn’t permit them to continue. There were up to 5 boats in the water most of the time running water sonar and an ROV, along with Fox 2 helicopter, search dogs and hours of manpower. Sheriff’s detectives will continue to investigate the circumstances that led to this incident on Sunday afternoon.
At this time in the investigation, detectives are waiting on the medical and toxicology reports from the Medical Examiner. The 8 other passengers on the boat that day have been interviewed and were very cooperative with detectives and deputies.
