Arrest Made In Fatal Casa Grande Shooting

The Casa Grande Police Department has arrested 26 year old Casa Grande resident Trelayne Hampton in connection with an early Sunday morning shooting that resulted in the death of 34 year old Andrew Noriega.

Police responded to a 12:22 a.m. call of a physical altercation at Barrington’s Pub, located at 864 East Jimmie Kerr Boulevard. Police discovered a 34 year old male victim on scene with a gunshot wound to the upper torso. This victim, identified as Andrew Noriega, was transported to Casa Grande Banner Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Detectives have been in contact with Mr. Noriega’s family.

During the investigation, a 9mm handgun was recovered and numerous witnesses were and continue to be interviewed. Detectives have identified Trelayne Hampton as the primary suspect in this investigation. Hampton was interviewed and is being booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center. CGPD will submit charges of 2nd Degree Murder to the Pinal County Attorney’s Office for review. Additionally, Hampton is a Prohibited Possessor.
