Scottsdale Cares Donation Program Helps Change Lives

Marcy escaped homelessness, found a good-paying job and regained her independence.

Jack received the support and education needed to care for his wife, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

Alexa learned new skills, overcame disabilities, gained self-esteem and is now employed.

All three of these success stories have a common thread. The programs that changed the lives of Marcy, Jack and Alexa all receive funds from Scottsdale Cares, the city’s voluntary utility bill donation program.

It’s simple for Scottsdale residents to participate. If you receive a utility bill from Scottsdale, simply check the donation box that will add $1 to your monthly bill, money that will go to fund non-profit agencies that assist thousands of Scottsdale residents each year.

Every penny of every donation goes to neighbors in need and is completely tax deductible.

If you use auto-pay or sure-pay forms to pay your Scottsdale utility bill, you can call 480-312-2461 and designate “yes” to make a donation to Scottsdale Cares.

Initiated in May 1995, Scottsdale Cares has received over $1 million from Scottsdale residents – donated one dollar at a time.

Some of the programs that contributions support include services for severely disabled adults, suicide hotlines, emergency crisis support and home delivered meals for the elderly.
