Pedestrian Killed Crossing Nogales Highway After Leaving Desert Diamond

On Saturday, November 12, 2016, at approximately 2:50 a.m., Pima County deputies responded to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in the area of East Los Reales Road and South Nogales Highway.

When deputies arrived, they learned a maroon car was travelling northbound on Nogales Highway when it struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway.

The pedestrian, 35-year-old Carlos Flores, had been crossing Nogales Highway from the entrance to Desert Diamond Casino when the collision occurred. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver, 19-year-old Miguel Cano, stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the collision. This investigation is still ongoing.
