Park Rangers Respond To Report Of Potential Suicide At Grand Canyon

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, the Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center received a call alerting rangers to a potentially suicidal individual at Grand Canyon National Park.

Responding park rangers located and recovered the body of a 48-year-old male below Pipe Creek Overlook on Desert View Drive yesterday afternoon. Identification of the individual is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

An investigation is being conducted by the National Park Service, the Old Bridge, New Jersey Police Department, and the Coconino County Medical Examiner.
