On December 9, a smoke grenade was recovered in an alley/trash dumpster by Douglas PD and released to CCSO for Disposal. On December 13, 2016 the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office reported finding military ordnance during an ‘going out of business’ auction.
Personnel identified the item as an 105mm “Dummy” projectile, “APFSDS-T.” In military language that’s: Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot w/Tracer (anti-Tank round)
