Tucson Police Department Investigating Suspicious Death Of Infant

The Tucson Police Department is currently investigating the suspicious death of 7-month old Victor Self.

On December 3, 2016, just after 5:00 p.m., Tucson Fire responded to an apartment complex in the 3200 block of East Bellevue Street for a report of an unresponsive child inside a residence. Fire personnel immediately transported the child to Banner University Medical Center where he was sadly pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.

Tucson Police officers and detectives from the Tucson Police Department’s Child Physical Abuse Unit responded to investigate. The initial investigation revealed that the child had significant head injuries that appeared to be non-accidental in nature. Family members and friends were in the home when the child was found unresponsive.

Detectives are still in the process of determining exactly what happened and are asking anyone with information to please call 911 or 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
