Supai Man Sentenced For Robbery

On December 13, 2016 Taylor Nardo Paya, 20, a member of the Havasupai Tribe, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Douglas L. Rayes to five years in prison followed by three years of supervised release. Paya had previously pleaded guilty to robbery.

The robbery occurred on the Havasupai Indian Reservation in December 2015.  Paya assaulted the victim in the front yard of a residence before stealing a number of her personal effects.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
