
On January 18, 2017 at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Eloy Police Department advising of a skydiving accident in the area of Estrella and Hanna roads in Eloy.
Appearently two skydivers collided in midair, rendering one skydiver unconscious. His chute automatically deployed at emergency deployment altitude, but he was unable to control it and had a hard landing. The other skydiver was unhurt.
The patient was airlifted to a hospital.
This case will be turned over to the FAA.
