Crews from Southern Arizona Paving and Construction Co, under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), have rescheduled the start of the reconstruction of Valencia Road from Alvernon Way to just west of Campbell Avenue to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017.
Paving operations are now scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017.
Crews will work both daytime and nighttime hours, with day work taking place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and night work will be 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. During night work, one lane of travel will be maintained in each direction and during day work two lanes of travel will be maintained in each direction on Valencia Road.
Final paving operations are still scheduled to take place the week of February 6, 2017, followed by utility adjustments and final striping. The above schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Business and residential access will be maintained at all times during the project. The traveling public can expect delays when driving in the work area. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in these work area.
