
On Sunday February 26, 2017 at approximately 7:15 pm, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a Robbery in progress at the Dollar General Store in Hereford.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded along with Sierra Vista Police Department Officers who were in the immediate area. While Deputies were enroute, Sierra Vista Police Officers apprehended 51-year-old Steven Rios of Hereford, behind the store with the stolen merchandise and cash.
The store clerk advised that the male subject had come into the store and began taking items off of the shelves before making contact with the clerk and demanding the money. The clerk advised that the man put his hand into his front pocket of the hoodie shirt he was wearing as he was talking to her implying that he had a weapon of some sort.
Rios was transported to the Cochise County Jail and booked on charges of Robbery, Shoplifting, and Theft.
