Border Brother’s Prison Gang Member Arrested For Carjacking

On February 27, a self-admitted member of the Border Brother’s prison gang, Alberto Campos, carjacked a female and handcuffed her in the back of a vehicle in the area of Johnson and Southern Road in Maricopa County.

It is believed while the kidnapping victim was detaining by Campos, he committed an armed robbery at the Wintersburg General Store with an assault rifle.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies responded and observed Campos’ vehicle leaving the General Store. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle that subsequently crashed. Campos fled the scene with an assault rifle. Deputies located the victim in the back of the vehicle.

On Tuesday afternoon Sheriff’s detectives were conducting follow-up on leads to the whereabouts of Campos. At approximately 7:30 p.m., detectives located Campos in Goodyear and attempted to box his vehicle in. Campos eluded detectives and began to flee, making his way westbound on I-10. MCSO deputies and other Law Enforcement Agencies assisted (DPS, Buckeye PD). Attempts to stop Campos utilizing overhead emergency lights on fully marked MCSO vehicles was conducted but had negative results.

Campos fled from deputies and led a pursuit that ended at a dairy farm on Palo Verde Road and Southern Avenue. MCSO detectives were able to place him under arrest without further incident. Campos has four outstanding warrants and several new charges pending.
