Yuma Border Patrol Agents Seize More Than $91K in Drugs

A Border Patrol canine team led agents to the discovery of 30 pounds of meth

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Wellton Station seized more than 30 pounds of methamphetamine on Friday during a vehicle stop near Wellton, Arizona.

Agents working traffic operations on Old U.S. 80 requested a canine team while on a vehicle stop of a late model pickup. Subsequently, the canine team discovered 30 pounds of methamphetamine in a concealed compartment within the vehicle. Agents seized the drugs and vehicle and arrested the U.S. Citizen male driver for narcotics smuggling.

The vehicle, contraband, and subject will be processed in accordance with Yuma Sector guidelines.
