Buckeye Substitute Teacher Arrested For Child Molestation

Westpark Elementary School substitute teacher, Brian Scritchfield, age 28, of Litchfield Park, was arrested and booked into the Maricopa County’s 4th avenue jail on one count of child molestation and two counts of aggravated assault of a minor.

On August 10, officers responded to the Westpark Elementary School, located in the WestPark community of Buckeye, after school officials reported two female students had been inappropriately touched.

Detectives from the Buckeye Police Departments Special Victims Unit interviewed witnesses and the female victims, ages 12 and 13.

One victim reported Scritchfield had touch her genitals and both victims reported Scritchfield had touched their hair, neck and back.

Scritchfield was employed by a temporary agency, which was contracted by the school district. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information is asked to call (623) 349-6400.
