Detectives with the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Scott Akers in the 300 block of North 6th Street in Sierra Vista on Thursday December 20, 2018.
Detectives found approximately 2 ounces of Methamphetamine, Marijuana, drug paraphernalia, items consistent with Methamphetamine sales, and U.S. Currency, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Akers, age 58, from Sierra Vista was arrested and booked into the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office Jail. He was charged with:
Possession of a Dangerous Drug
Transportation of a Dangerous Drug
Transportation of a Dangerous Drug for Sale
Tampering with Physical Evidence
Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (8 Counts)
He is currently being held on a $40,000 bond.
Akers’ passenger, Crystal Marinez, age 30, from Sierra Vista, was arrested and booked into the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office Jail on the following charges:
Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2 counts)
Marinez was released on her own recognizance.
