The Tucson Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting of
38-year-old Larry Santini Lopez that occurred early Friday morning on Tucson’s south side.
On December 28, 2018, just before 6:00 a.m., an employee of the Hilton Garden Inn (6575 S. Country Club Road) responded to a guest room after reports of a disturbance, according to Tucson Police. An additional guest also reported hearing the smoke alarm in that same room. Upon entering, the employee discovered an unresponsive male and called 911. Officers were dispatched to the hotel. Santini Lopez with obvious signs of gunshot trauma and he was pronounced deceased on scene.
Detectives report that the shooting appears to be drug related. At this time there is no one in custody. Detectives are actively following up on leads and are asking anyone with information to please call 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
