Gosar, Former Arizona Senate Candidate Trade Scathing Insults On Twitter

Failed Arizona State Senate candidate Steve Weichert was slapped down on Twitter after he called Congressman Paul Gosar a “pig and unworthy of the office he now holds” in a tweet after Gosar introduced legislation that calls for Cesar Chavez’s birthday to be ‘National Border Control Day.’

In response, Gosar tweeted back, “Steve is ignorant of history and a liar. He says “We need more bipartisanship – in the State Capitol and in Washington – if we’re going to solve the very real challenges we face” then calls me a “pig.” What a little bitch.”

Last week, Gosar introduced H.Res. 268, a resolution supporting the designation of Cesar Chavez’s birthday, March 31, as National Border Control Day.

Gosar said his resolution expressed “strong support for Cesar Chavez’s fight to defend the interests of the American farmworkers, and for his recognition that non-violent action could protect these workers against the business interests which would replace them with illegal foreign labor; and encourages recognition and celebration of National Border Control Day.”

Weichert narrowly lost his bid for an Arizona State Senate seat in the 2018 election cycle to JD Mesnard.

Gosar (188,842 votes) defeated Democratic Party candidate David Brill (84,521 votes) and Green Party candidate Haryaksha Gregor Knauer (3,672 votes) in the 2018 election cycle.
