Pinal County – A Pinal County man, Jacob Neubauer, is in custody in connection with the theft of multiple sets of golf clubs out of Gold Canyon garages.

According to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, between the dates of September 13, 2019 and September 27, 2019, Pinal County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies received numerous calls regarding theft of golf clubs out of open garages in the MountainBrook Village neighborhood in Gold Canyon, Arizona.

Neubauer would allegedly drive through the neighborhood looking for open garage doors, according to PCSO. When he came across an open garage door, he would get out of his vehicle, locate golf clubs in the garage, then return to his vehicle with the golf clubs before driving off. Many of the stolen golf clubs were located at a golf resale shop in Phoenix.

Neubauer was aware that the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office had been looking for him. On October 4, 2019 around 6:30 a.m., Neubauer turned himself in at the PCSO substation in Gold Canyon, AZ.

“Great work by our deputies for taking this thief into custody,” said Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb in a press release. “These predators are looking for easy targets when they’re looking for items to steal. Simply by closing your garage door, even when you’re at home, you become less attractive to these criminals.”

Neubauer was booked into the Pinal Count Adult Detention Center. He faces charges to include multiple counts of burglary in the 2nd degree, theft, trafficking of stolen property, and criminal trespassing.
