Arizona COVID-19 Cases At 3,018, With 89 Deaths

PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Health Services reported 3,018 cases of COVID-19 in the state and 89 deaths as of April 9. To date, 37,178 tests for COVID-19 have been completed and 34,416 tests were negative.

Although Maricopa County is reporting the highest number of cases in the state, Phoenix, the largest city in the county is only now reducing light rail services. The reduction will start on Saturday. In late March, a Valley Metro bus driver tested positive for COVID-19.

In Pima County there are currently 20 known COVID-19 deaths, with 512 confirmed cases.

The total number of positive tests for COVID-19 has reached 558 for the Navajo Nation as of Thursday – an increase of 70 positive cases since Wednesday, according to the Navajo Department of Health. The report also includes 2,381 total negative test results as of Thursday.
