On June 13, at approximately 2:02 p.m., Marshals with the U.S. Marshal’s Service and Flagstaff Police Department witnessed Joseph Larranaga, 24 years of age, of Flagstaff AZ enter a residence at the 1800 block of North Center St. These Officers were aware Larranaga had an active arrest warrant pending against him that was issued on June 9.
After Larranaga barricaded himself within the residence and refused to exit upon request Flagstaff Police Department’s Negotiations Team and Tactical Operations Team were called to safely take Larranaga into custody.
Flagstaff Police Departments Detective Division applied for and obtained a search warrant to enter and search the residence for Larranaga when he refused to communicate or surrender to police.
On June 13, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Tactical Operations Team entered the residence. They found Larranaga hiding within the residence and took him into custody without further incident.
