The deceased 17-month-old girl has been identified as Victorialynn Hererdia-Manuel, of Ajo, Arizona. At the time of Victorialynn’s death she was left in the care of her mother’s boyfriend, 27-year-old Julian Moore.
Moore was arrested on child abuse charges and booked into the Pima County Jail in Ajo. The investigation continues and information will be released as it becomes available.
Reported on June 11, 2016, at approximately 12:10 a.m., deputies responded to the 400 Block of West Arroyo Avenue about the report of a 17-month-old girl who was not breathing.
Upon arrival, deputies conducted Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) until Ajo Ambulance arrived and continued emergency care. The child was pronounced deceased on scene.
Homicide Unit detectives responded for further investigation.
