Salvation Army Will Deploy Phoenix Area Hydration Stations

The Salvation Army will deploy five Hydration Stations and Cooling Centers today in response to the extreme heat warning. Hydration Stations will provide chilled bottled water and safety information to individuals in or potentially in distress due to the heat. Locations designated as a Cooling Centers will also provide refuge from the heat.

Hours will vary slightly with all station open between the hours of 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. The centers are expected to remain open through Wednesday, June, 22.

Hydration Stations are located at:
Street Locations
o SW corner 16th St. and Jefferson (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

Cooling Center are located at:
Street Locations
o 2707 E Washington St., Phoenix (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

The Salvation Army Corps Locations:
o Phoenix Central Corps: 4343 N. 16th St., Phoenix, (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
o Chandler Corps: 85 E. Saragosa St., Chandler, (8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
o Phoenix Citadel: 632 N. 3rd Ave (8 a.m. – 4 p.m.)

The Salvation Army is in need of volunteers at the Hydration Stations and Cooling Stations. Please call Danielle Shankle at 602-267-4117 or visit phoenixsa.volunteersfirst.org to volunteer. The Salvation Army will be collecting bottled water (8-16.9 oz.) throughout the summer. Individuals interested in donating can deliver water to 2707 E. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ 85008 or drop off at any Safeway or Albertson’s location.
