
As many are aware, there were several heat-related incidents yesterday, which led to three rescues. The first rescue was reported around 11:30 a.m. at Finger Rock Trail. Two hikers became lost and ran out of water. A 22-year-old man was transported to Tucson Medical Center where he was treated. With him was an 18-year-old woman, identified as Adrienna Rasmussen, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second rescue was near Seven Falls in Sabino Canyon. The hikers were provided water and escorted off the trail.
The third incident occurred at Ventana Trail #98. Three German Nationals began hiking early yesterday morning. One of the men was able to make it down the trail. Deputies located the second man, 57-year-old Stefan Guenster, deceased near the trail.
The third man, 33-year-old Marcus Turowski, is still missing. Search and Rescue deputies are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Mr. Turowski. He is described as a Caucasian male with a thin build and blonde hair, last seen wearing a green shirt and jean shorts. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1.
Previously unreported deputies, responded to an incident on the Loop near the 5000 Block of South Outlet Center Drive. At approximately 3:00 p.m., 54-year-old Jana Kirkpatrick went out for a walk. Her husband became worried when she did not return in a timely manner and called 9-1-1. Deputies arrived and began searching the Loop. They located Mrs. Kirkpatrick along the path, where she was pronounced deceased.
At this time there are three deceased and one missing since yesterday.
