Tucson City Council Focuses On Guns, Not Jobs

Because they do not want to discuss issues related to the continued closures of small businesses and the lack of opportunities for the struggling populace in the eighth poorest metropolitan area in the country, the Tucson City Council is focusing on guns. In action taken on Wednesday night, the Tucson City Council voted unanimously to restrict private gun sales at the Tucson Convention Center.

Now, weapons that can fire 10 or more rounds without being reloaded, and clips and magazines that can hold 10 or more rounds of ammunition cannot be sold at the TCC.

The move was strictly symbolic as the Arizona Legislature passed a law that prohibits municipalities from enacting ordinances that are stricter than state gun laws.

Earlier this year, Caterpillar came to City leaders in the hopes of working with them on the corporation’s relocation. The City rebuffed them and eventually, at the request of state officials, Pima County stepped in to work with the company, according to sources.
