Comey Demands The Willing Suspension of Disbelief

Samuel Taylor Coleridge Gave us the poems "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" and "Kubla Khan,"and the useful phrase "willing suspension of disbelief "

And now, the Federal Bureau of Investigation under Director James Comey, who interpreted the law to whitewash the Hillary Clinton server investigation is asking us to willingly suspend disbelief.

The willing suspension of disbelief (WSOD) has been defined as a willingness to suspend one’s critical faculties and believe the unbelievable; sacrifice of realism and logic for the sake of enjoyment. The term was coined in 1817 by the poet and aesthetic philosopher Samuel Taylor Coleridge, who suggested that if a writer could infuse a “human interest and a semblance of truth” into a fantastic tale, the reader would suspend judgment concerning the implausibility of the narrative.

Director Comey, after a lengthy detailed description shredding the lies and misstatement of facts by Hillary discovered during the investigation of the mishandling of the Clinton’s personal email server. Actually it was revealed that Hillary had multiple email servers. A person of reason would expect that he would announce a recommendation of presenting this to a Grand Jury by the Attorney General.

Flip the switch for willing suspension of disbelief (WSOD).

Mr. Comey then stated that the FBI did not find clear evidence that Hillary Clinton or her colleagues “intended” to violate the laws governing the handling of classified information . . .but “intent” is not an element of the statute. Comey goes on to conclude that Hillary and company were “extremely careless” in their handling of highly classified information.

This immediately brought to light why one would be suspicious of the fact that it appeared to be out of character for the FBI to engage in a 3 ½ hour interview with the prime target of the investigation on Saturday of the 4th of July weekend and then schedule a Tuesday morning press conference to announce the results of the investigation. Fortunately the WSOD switch is on.

Immediately after Mr. Comey abruptly finished his announcement the President appeared on stage with Hillary at a campaign rally in North Carolina. An event that never would have happened if there was any chance Comey was going to recommend an indictment. Without the WSOD switch I can’t imagine that Mr. Comey would have “signaled” that Hillary would skate once again.
Fortunately for my long term sanity WSOD switch was not turned on eight days earlier when Bill Clinton and the Attorney General Loretta Lynch tried to sell the concept that their meeting was an eerie confluence of circumstances that resulted in their “private” 30 minute meeting at the Phoenix “Sky Harbor” Airport.

The most frightening part of this entire sequence of events is the WSOD switch obviously works for millions of democrats who clearly believe Hillary or hope the WSOR will bring them all of the free things Hillary and Bernie have promised.
