Dr. Kelli Ward (R-AZ) has signed the ObamaCare Repeal Pledge, according to the Independent Women’s Voice. Ward, who has served as an emergency room doctor in rural Arizona, is challenging Sen. John McCain in the Republican Primary.
The Repeal Pledge is a project of the nonpartisan, nonprofit Independent Women’s Voice organization.
“Dr. Kelli Ward’s decision to take Pledge shows she gets it when it comes to health care,” said Heather R. Higgins, President and CEO of Independent Women’s Voice. “This clearly demonstrates to voters her commitment to the full and complete repeal of ObamaCare.”
“Kelli understands the harm that ObamaCare has already caused through increased premiums and costs, and a decreasing quality of care,” added Higgins. “ObamaCare means bigger government. It means less freedom. It means people have less choice and control in their health care decisions. And all of this will continue to grow worse if ObamaCare isn’t turned back.”
“As a family physician, I’ve seen all sides of America’s healthcare system, and I can tell you there is nothing wrong with our healthcare system that can be fixed by career politicians, giant insurance companies, or Washington bureaucrats,” said Dr. Kelli Ward. “Healthcare Freedom is about correct incentives and personal empowerment, not governments mandates and regulations. Empowering patients with consumer choice is the key to cutting costs and increasing quality. Healthcare freedom is about people, not politics.”
“The Repeal Pledge was designed as a litmus test to help the American public understand which candidates and office holders are serious about repeal, versus those who claim to be but won’t actually take action,” continued Higgins. “With this commitment, Dr. Kelli Ward passes that test.”
