Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a medical call at 56580 W DASHER DR. Maricopa, Skydive Phoenix Inc. for a 61-year-old man who had a “hard landing” near the drop zone, sustaining life-threatening injuries. The 9-1-1 call came in on Aug. 28 at 4:54 p.m.
Deputies report the victim was transported to Chandler Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The FAA is investigating the circumstances of the accident.
The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office has no details as to what happened to cause the hard landing and will be working with the FAA if any law enforcement investigation is needed.
