On Monday, at approximately 4:20 a.m., Pima County deputies responded to a single vehicle crash near Sabino Canyon Road and Shoreline Drive.
When deputies arrived, they learned 78-year-old Nandlal Patel was driving northbound on Sabino Canyon Road when he went off the roadway and hit a Tucson Electric Power electrical box. Deputies found Mr. Patel unresponsive and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Rural/Metro Fire Department personnel transported Mr. Patel to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Traffic Unit responded and took over the investigation.
