Martin Luther King, in his “I have a dream” speech stated, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
Barack Obama was not elected based on the content of his character but because of the color of his skin. If voters had checked his character, he would never have been elected.
Obama’s own physician said of Obama, “I think there is too much of the University of Chicago in him. By which I mean he’s academic, lacks passion and feeling, and doesn’t have the sense of humanity that I expected.” Had we only known in 2008.
Allen West, a man of integrity and bravery, wrote in his blog, “I am struggling to listen to President Obama as part of the celebration awarding the Medal of Honor to 24 duly deserving men from previous combat operations. I am struggling because it pains me to see someone who is the epitome of weakness and represents the diametric opposite of honor, integrity, and character drone on about those who embody the highest standards of courage, vigilance, sacrifice, and American resolve.”
Obama’s weak leadership has made the world more dangerous. Putin is expanding Russia’s presence in Crimea, Ukraine and Syria. Obama declared a “red line” in Syria and wimped out when the line was crossed. China has expanded into the South Pacific with man-made “islands.” The Philippines have renounced the United States after Obama based his “pivot” on the Philippines. Innocent Syrians are being murdered every day.
Weak character and leadership have consequences. In 2014, Obama calmly states that he would “ultimately destroy the terrorist group known as ISIL.” But one cannot defeat a 24/7 terrorist with occasional air attacks. “Boots on the ground” are needed to defeat ISIL. But Obama told the enemy, “we will not bet dragged into another ground war in Iraq.” ISIL was certainly glad to hear the news.
“Obama is the weakest of U.S. presidents, he had humiliating defeats in the region. Under him the Islamic awakening happened,” commented Ali Younesi, senior advisor to the Iranian president. “Americans witnessed their greatest defeats in Obama’s era: Terrorism expanded, [the] U.S. had huge defeats under Obama [and] that is why they want to compromise with Iran,” Younesi continued.
The Saudis agree with the Iranians and Iraqis that Obama is weak in character and leadership. This opinion is predicated on the U.S. abandonment of Iraq and the subsequent rise of ISIL, the “red line” retreat, and Obama’s capitulation to Iranian demands. Obama’s press conference in Turkey near the end of 2015 was essentially demoralizing to our allies: “but what I’m not interested in doing is posing or pursuing some notion of American leadership or America winning . . .,” whined the Commander-in-Chief.
Obama’s lack of character and timidity hurt the United States domestically too. He has lost the trust of the American people with his dishonest selling of Obamacare. He lied to Americans about NSA spying. He lied to Americans about Hilary Clinton’s email server and when he knew about it. He accumulated more national debt than all previous president’s combined.
Even Obama’s appointees have criticized his weak leadership. Leon Panetta, Obama’s Ex-Secretary of Defense and CIA Director expressed disapproval of the president for being weak and lacking the qualities of a strong leader.
Robert Gates, former Defense Secretary under Obama, in his book “Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War,” harshly criticized Obama, writing that Obama “doesn’t believe in his own strategy, and doesn’t consider the war to be his. For him, it’s all about getting out . . . [Obama was} skeptical if not outright convinced it [the course Obama charted for Afghanistan] would fail.”
The next President of the United States will have to face and correct the problems created by Barack Obama. Some of these issues are:
Foreign
- Reestablish good working relationships with Russia and China.
- Eliminate ISIL and stabilize the Middle East.
- Resolving the Russia-Ukraine problem peacefully
- Normalizing a working relationship with Iran.
Domestic
- Rebuild our military, ensuring national security.
- Rebuild our economy.
- Restore middle-class purchase power.
- Reduce the national debt.
- Overhaul the tax code and reduce taxes.
- Repeal and replace Obamacare.
- Stop illegal immigration.
- Eliminate ISIL in the United States.
- Reversing death spiral energy policies
- Reverse America’s uncontrollable welfare dependency
- Restore religious liberties.
- Balance the national budget.
- Strengthen and secure Social Security.
- Reduce the cost and size of the federal government.
- Eliminate unneeded Departments, e.g., Energy, Education, HUD,
- Reduce the size and impact of EPA, Agriculture, Transportation,
- Reorganize and downsize the Department of Homeland Security
- Combine and reduce the size of the Departments of Commerce and Labor
God help the next president, whoever it is.
