On Monday, three men were shot on Interstate 17 in an officer-involved shooting on the freeway near Thomas Road. The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. in the southbound lane of the freeway when the first victim was shot by a carjacker.
The shooter then got out of the car and ran while exchanging gunfire with two Department of Public Safety troopers.
The suspect was shot and is in critical condition.
Another driver was shot. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.
