On January 2, 2017, at approximately 1:15 a.m., Tucson Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 4000 block of East Flower Street. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male inside the home with obvious signs of gunshot trauma.
Officers immediately began rendering first aid. Tucson Fire personnel took over medical treatment, however the victim was pronounced deceased on scene shortly after their arrival.
Homicide detectives have determined that shortly after 1:00 a.m., an unknown suspect(s) arrived at the home and made contact with the victim. Shots were immediately fired from the suspect(s) and the victim was struck multiple times. Several other people were inside the home at the time of the shooting.
At this time, it appears that the suspect(s) was specifically targeting the victim.
Detectives are actively following up on leads and are encouraging anyone with information to call 911 or 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
The victim’s identity is currently being withheld pending next of kin notification.
